A review of the weekend’s action in the CSL

Chinese Super League Review

Matchday four of the CSL took place this weekend and below is how the action unfolded.

On Friday there were two games in the CSL. The first of these saw Guangzhou Evergrande FC beat Tianjin Quanjian 1-0. Gao Lin scored the only goal of the game in 55th minute. Four minutes prior, Evergrande were reduced to ten men when Alan Carvalho was sent off. Quanjian should have won the game as they dominated the game with fourteen shots and 54% of possession, but Evergrande’s only shot on target proved the difference.

The other game on Friday saw Shanghai East Asia narrowly beat Chongqing Lifan 2-1. Lifan took the lead in the 15th minute through Yang Ke. The game was then turned on it’s head ten minutes later as Wu Lei and then Yu Hai saw East Asia take the lead. With five minutes left of the game Odil Ahmedov was sent off leaving a tense last five minutes for the home side. East Asia held on for the last five minutes and secured a huge three points.

Saturday’s action

There when then five game in the CSL on Saturday. The first of these saw Guangzhou R&F beat Changchun Yatai 2-1 in stoppage time.Yatai took the lead in the 61st minute through Zhang Xiaofei .Eran Zahavi equalised for R&F with 12 minutes left. Yatai were reduced to ten men six minutes into stoppage time when Yu Rui was sent off. R&F then retook the lead a minute later through a Renato Ribeiro Calixto penalty and this saw then take all three points.

Bejing Guoan produced a comfortable 4-0 win Guizhou Renhe. Goals from Jonathan Soriano, Yu Yang, Jonathan Viera, Yu Dabao saw them comfortably win.

Shanghai Shenhua also put four in the net with a 4-2 win over Hebei CFFC. A hat trick from Obefemi Martins and a Freddy Guarin scored the four goals fro Shenhua. Zhang Chengdong and Ezequiel Lavezzi get Hebei’s two goals.

Henan Jianye drew 1-1 with Dalian Aerbin. Yannick Carrasco gave Aerbin the lead in the eleventh minute. Christian Bassogog equalised for Jianye in the 34th minute to earn Jianye a point.

There were also three games in the CSL One. The first of these saw Heilongjiang Lava beat Wuhan Zall 1-0. The second saw Meizhou Meixian Techand draw 1-1 with Meizhou Hakka. Shijiazhaung Ever Bright secured a 1-0 win over Dalian Transcendence, this was despite Ever Bright being reduced to ten men as Peng Wang was sent off.

Sunday’s action

There were two games in the CSL Guizhou Zhicheng win 2-0 against Shangdong Luneng. Goals from Bubacarr Trawally and Mario Suarez score the goals to secure the three points.

The last of the games in the CSL saw Jiangsu Sainty beat Tianjin Teda 2-1. two goals in two minutes from Alex Teixeira and Richmond Boakye score the two goals that saw them get the three points. Johnathan Aparecido Da Silva pull a goal back, but it wasn’t enough for Teda.

There were three games in CSL One. The first of these saw Liaoning Whowin beat Beijing BG 1-0. Yanbian Fude beat Nei Mongol Zhongyou 1-0 despite Fude have a player sent off. The final game saw Shaghai Shenxin edge a seven goal thriller 4-3 against Hangzhou Greentown.
