Tianjinq Quanjian

Tianjin Quanjian are based in Tianjin and play their home games in the Haihe Educational Football Stadium, which can seat approximately 30,000 fans. Tianjin are currently owned by Quanjian Nature Medicine, who took over on 7th July 2015. The club was founded on 6th June 2006. The club completed a massive overhaul after Quanjian’s takeover and brought in players like Luis Fabiano, Zhao Xuri and Jadson Rodrigues da Silva. They brought in Italian Fabio Cannavaro as coach and won promotion to the Super League in 2016, as Champions of the China League One.

MANAGER

Fabio Cannavaro was appointed head coach of Tianjin Quanjian in the middle of the 2016 season. He guided the team from 8th place upon his arrival, to promotion as Champions. Cannavaro was expected to replace Marcelo Lippi as Guangzhou Evergrande’s coach and was even formally unveiled, but a sudden decision was made to install Luiz Felipe Scolari at the helm. Cannavaro was previously the manager at Al-Ahli and Al-Nassr in the Middle East.

INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS

Belgian International Axel Witsel is the most high-profile name on Tianjin Quanjian’s payroll. His club career saw him play for Standard Liege and Benfica, before making a big-money move to Zenit St. Petersburg. Witsel signed for Tianjin in 2017. Witsel has racked up 79 International caps for Belgium since his debut in 2008. He was part of the country’s squad to the FIFA World Cup in 2014 and the Euro 2016.

Alexandre Pato is another big-name plying his trade in the Chinese Super League. He had an unsuccessful loan spell at Chelsea and a successful one at Sao Paulo. He started his career at Internacional before moving to AC Milan. He returned to Corinthians before moving to Villarreal and then made the switch to Tianjin. Pato has made 23 appearances for his country and scored 10 goals.

Junior Moraes is currently on loan from Dynamo Kyiv. His career started at Santos. He then played for Santo Andre, Gloria Bistrita, CSKA Sofia, Metalurh Donetsk.

Geuvanio joined Tianjin in 2016 and led them to promotion to the Super League during his first season there. He’s previously played for Santos and had an unsuccessful loan stint at Penapolense before moving to China.

Kwon Kyung-won played for Jeonbuk Hyundai in South Korea and Al-Ahli before joining Tianjin Quanjian.

Luis Fabiano is the all-time top scorer for Tianjin Quanjian with 23 goals, at an incredible rate of 0.79 goals per match. He is followed by Mario Lucio and Geuvanio who both have 10 goals. Among the current players, Ke Sun has 9.
