Chinese Super League basement boys Jiangsu Suning could throw a spanner in the works as Tottenham prepare a move for unsettled Bayern Munich livewire Douglas Costa.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is said to weighing up a move for the Brazilian ace, 26, to boost the firepower threat of the White Hart Lane side as they prepare for impending Champions League football next season.

And while Costa won’t be enamoured by the rock-bottom league table standing of Jiangsu Suning, he could easily be enticed by the big bucks on offer in what would be potentially a better fiscal deal moving to China as opposed to the English Premier League.

Jiangsu Suning’s Alex Teixeira says chats regularly former Shakhtar Donetsk teammate Costa about football in China and their conversations have sparked talk of the possibility of the Bundesliga star making the move to join his friend and countryman.

The two players became firm friends while with Ukraine’s Shakhtar Donestk in Ukraine and, with Costa reportedly unsettled in Germany, it is not out of the question that they could reunite in the Chinese Super League.

Teixeira departed Shakhtar early last year to join Jiangsu Suning for £40million, some six months after Costa went to Munich. Will they be reunited? We’ll know more soon.

Meanwhile, it is said that Diego Costa could yet make the move to the CSL. Tianjin Quanjian insiders say work is progressing on on a deal to lure Chelsea striker Diego Costa, with an astonishing weekly wage of £650,000 a week.

Costa is said to be unsettled at Stamford Bridge so Tianjin Quanjian manager Fabio Cannavaro has reignited the chances of a move. His club has already made a £90miliion offer for Costa and the Spaniard was said to be interested but the transfer didn’t happen. Now, it seems, it could be back on.

And another Chelsea star, John Terry, could also make a lucrative move to the CSL when he leaves the Blues at the end of the season. Clubs are said to have been put on alert by Terry’s representatives and he will listen to offers as he believes he has plenty of game time left in his tank.
